The mission of the Baptist Healing Trust is to further the work of non-profit agencies providing health services to vulnerable populations in Middle Tennessee. We are a caring ministry devoted to healing with love in the Christian tradition.

The Baptist Healing Trust is a private foundation, a 501(c)(3), that was created in 2002 from proceeds of the sale of the Baptist Hospital System to Ascension Health in St. Louis, MO. Funds from those proceeds are bestowed as grants to non-profit organizations in Middle Tennessee who assist underserved populations through health services. In addition, the Trust provides a range of services and support to caregivers and agencies interested in growing a culture of compassionate care.

From its inception and through June 2011, the Baptist Healing Trust has awarded almost $55 million dollars in grants throughout the Middle Tennessee region. As the Trust matures, our goal is to have a sustainable impact on the health and lives of residents and caregivers of Middle Tennessee.

The Trust, while created out of the sale of Baptist Hospital to Ascension Health/St. Thomas Health Services, is now a private, independent foundation and is not affiliated with the current Baptist Hospital or Baptist Hospital Foundation.
