Baptist Healing Trust was created in 2002 from a portion of the proceeds of the sale of Baptist Hospital System to Ascension Health in St. Louis, MO. The Trust’s focus is on healthcare services to the vulnerable in Middle Tennessee. Until 2009, the Trust is committed to support of the Baptist Hospital mission with the majority of its investment income. The remainder of the investment income is bestowed as grants to charities in Middle Tennessee who assist underserved populations. In addition, the Trust provides a sophisticated range of consulting services and support tools to selected hospitals across the nation and local charities that are interested in growing a culture of loving care.
Baptist Healing Trust is one of the major foundations in Tennessee. Since the inception of the Trust in 2002, over $36 million dollars of grants have been awarded in the Middle Tennessee community. As the Trust matures, its goal is to have a sustainable impact on the health and lives of residents of Middle Tennessee and hospital caregivers and patients throughout the country.
