CASA of Maury County
The mission of CASA of Maury County, Inc., is to advocate for the best interests of children from ages 0-18 who have been victims of abuse and neglect. Specially trained community volunteers from diverse backgrounds serve as mentors to these children and by court order advocate for their safe and permanent placement free of further abuse and neglect. This grant will support the program director’s salary. Six months after case closure, 160 of 180 children served (88%) will be in safe and permanent homes free of re-abuse as reported by interview with parents or guardians and confirmed by Child Protective Services and Department of Children's Services. Within 6 months of CASA assignment 75 of 80 (94%) children ages 0-5 years without documented and current immunizations will be current. At the present time 12 of 80 (15%) children ages 0-5 years have documented immunizations at the time of CASA assignment. Within 9 months of CASA assignment 85 of 100 (85%) children ages 6-18 years will demonstrate academic improvement, as verified by school grade reports.
