Columbia CARES is an AIDS-Service Organization founded in 1992.  Its mission is to educate communities in the South Central counties of Middle Tennessee regarding HIV/AIDS, including HIV testing as well as provide social services for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. The grant requested will be used to fund a portion of a Rapid HIV Testing Specialist salary. 545 (95%) out of 575 persons high-risk for HIV infection and access Rapid HIV Testing will receive their test results. 460 (80%) out of 575 persons tested will be able to identify behaviors which place them at-risk for HIV infection. 430 (75%) out of 575 persons tested and complete a risk assessment will be able to identify at least two ways he/she can successfully reduce their personal risk for HIV infection.
