Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries is a regional organization founded in 1959 in northwest Louisiana, with programs in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee.  Evergreen's mission is to help people with disabilities build better lives, through the provision of group homes, supported independent living, respite care services, and family support.  This grant will support a nurse position to oversee the implementation of an adaptive yoga program.  Simultaneously, Evergreen will implement credited training sessions for therapists on adaptive yoga with individuals with multiple disabilities, mobility issues and physical fragility facilitated by Dr. Catherine Stallworth.  At 6-months post-training, 45 out of 60 (75%) of training participants will be utilizing adaptive yoga techniques with their clients.   6-month post-implementation of an adaptive yoga program, 35 out of 70 (50%) of participants in adaptive yoga will have maintained or improved their baseline level of flexibility.  6-months post-implementation of an adaptive yoga program, 35 out of 70 (50%) of participants will have maintained or increased their baseline level of muscle strength.
