Fentress County Children's Center
Fentress County Children's Center's (FCCC) mission is to provide comfort and safety for abused children, help children and parents heal from trauma, and prevent child abuse. FCCC is a child advocacy center, established in 2004, which offers (1) forensic interviews and victim support, (2) mental health counseling, (3) life skills training that teaches disadvantaged youth skills needed to be successful in life, (4) medical examinations and expert testimony, and (5) prevention education. This grant will support a portion of the salary of a therapist and his/her professional development. 281 out of 375 (75%) participants will exhibit desired change in targeted behavior (experience reduced frequency and/or intensity of abuse-related symptoms, increased feelings of safety, and empowerment). 281 out of 375 (75%) participants will improve life skills (social, educational, stress/anger management, and/or drug prevention).
