Gallatin C.A.R.E.S. (Christian Association for the Relief of Economic Suffering) was established in 1983 for the purpose of providing short-term emergency relief to those in economic crisis or need without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, creed, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status. Its guiding mission is to be a stable and reliable source of economic and humanitarian support for the needy and suffering people of Sumner County.  Funds from this grant will be applied directly toward assistance for prescription medications and toward substance abuse treatment admission fees for qualified participants who are either referred to them by the Sumner County Drug Court, or who request substance abuse treatment assistance directly from C.A.R.E.S.  21 out of 30 (70%) of all drug court participants to complete treatment will be abstinent 6-months following treatment.  22 out of 30 (75%) of all clients who successfully complete treatment and graduated from the 15-month drug court program will have received GED, secured steady employment and have not violated probation or been arrested for relapse 12-months following graduation. 60 out of 75 (80%) of all clients seeking financial assistance for prescription medication will report satisfactorily completing prescriptive or counseling regimen.
