 Kid's Place is a full service Child Advocacy Center that was established in 1999.  Services provided include:  Investigative interviews, therapeutic services, Family Advocate, court preparation and support through the legal process, prevention and community awareness and forensic medical exams. The mission statement of Kid's Place is to reduce the trauma of child abuse by providing a child oriented environment for the coordinated and multidisciplinary investigation, intervention, and treatment of child sexual and severe physical abuse in Lawrence, Wayne, Giles, and Maury Counties of Tennessee.  The grant requested in this application will be used to fund the salary of a full-time Master’s level therapist.  1.  85% or 93 out of 110 children will demonstrate reduction in re-experiencing symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  These symptoms include; intrusive recollections, bad dreams, and flashbacks regarding the trauma. 2.  75% or 82 out of 110 children will demonstrate reduction in avoidance symptoms.  These symptoms include; avoiding thoughts or feelings, avoiding activities, avoiding people, forgetfulness, and detachment from loved ones.
