By nurturing transformative, sustainable change for healing and freedom, Magdalene and Thistle Farms stand in solidarity with women who have survived lives of trafficking, prostitution and addiction.   Founded 15 years ago, Magdalene addresses the complex needs of women who have been trafficked or have records of criminal prostitution through a residential model that includes treatment, case management, education, training and opportunities for employment. The agency's goals for the year include increasing its capacity to 1) provide respite housing and support for women requesting assistance through the Hannah Project, 2) continuing to  intersect and unite nationally and internationally as a movement for women's healing with  individuals and groups seeking to duplicate our model in their own communities, 3) employing more Magdalene graduates at Thistle Farms through diversified sources of revenue to Thistle Farms, e.g. Thistle Stop Café, paper-making studio, monthly immersion workshops and increased retail and internet sales.
