 MHAMT was established in 1946 and is the oldest mental health agency in Middle Tennessee.  Its mission is to connect the community with specialized mental health and wellness resources, provide services that improve the quality of life and promote effective services where mental health needs exist. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund a portion of the Multicultural Outreach Coordinator's salary and benefits, mileage, materials and incentives for group participants.132 of 165 (80%) non-native English speaking students will report improved self-esteem, decision-making skills, behavior management and impulse control through a two point increase on a 5-point Likert Scale.  15 of 16 (94%) women referred to receive mental health services necessary to obtain a temporary Visa will participate in support groups, complete program goals developed based on results of the initial resiliency survey, work one-on-one with the MOP Coordinator to write a complete personal history documenting domestic violence and receive a recommendation letter for inclusion in their Visa application packet.
