Founded in 1996, New Hope Academy is a Christ-centered community school with an economically, racially, and culturally diverse student body.  It exists to serve low-income families by establishing a solid Biblical worldview, instilling vision, confirming hope, and preparing each young person for a life of service.  The grant requested in this application will be used to fund the mental health counseling program at New Hope, specifically two part-time counselors and the supervisory component in collaboration with Mercy Health Services.  1. 27 of 38 (75%) students in counseling program will reduce at least two of their symptoms to an acceptable range on the Achenbach assessment in the classroom and/or at home after eight counseling sessions. 2. 9 of 12 (75%) teachers with children receiving services will report a healthier class environment after three months of children receiving services. 3. 51 of 60 (85%) in-service participants will report via survey an increased awareness of how to access services to create mental healing after attending the in-service workshop.
