Grant Amount: $50,000 and under
Grant Term: 1 Year
Jun 20 2013

Since 1985, the Pastoral Counseling Centers of Tennessee (PCCT) seeks to positively impact the mental, emotional, relational and spiritual lives of persons in Middle Tennessee through offering quality mental health services and pastoral care to those who come to us for help, regardless their ability to pay.  The grant requested in this application will be used to fund pastoral psychotherapy for clients only able to pay $30 or less per session according to its sliding scale. 316 of 421 clients (75%) clients will show an improvement of at least 5 points on the GAF scale after attending a minimum of 6 sessions or upon mutually agreeable termination of counseling. 351 of 468 clients (75%) will demonstrate successful completion of more than half of their treatment goals (or complete 1 goal, if only one goal is set). Though treatment goals are tailored for each individual client's needs and thus vary greatly, an example of goals could be for an abusive husband to learn and apply anger management skills such as Stop Action (temporarily removing oneself from the situation) or Redirection (changing the immediate conversation subject until calm is achieved).
