Founded in 2005, The Refuge Center for Counseling exists to offer affordable professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need. It is committed to systemic family health and to providing excellence in care to adults and children who are limited in resources and may otherwise be unable to access such services.  Its vision is to be distinguished as the preeminent counseling organization in Tennessee and it is recognized for its inclusive, family-centered atmosphere, talented therapists, cutting-edge services, and its ability to offer hope to a hurting world. The grant requested in this application will fund salaries and wages, equipment, supplies, professional development and professional services. 92 of 108 (or 85%) of trauma survivors served will report they have a physical and emotional safety plan and their sense of personal empowerment has increased. 86 of 108 (or 80%) of trauma survivors served who commit to 4 or more EMDR reprocessing sessions will report at least at a 50% increase of the VOC (Validity of Cognition) Level related to their belief about self in conjunction with the traumatic memory. 45 of 52 (or 86%) of clients will obtain/refill needed prescriptions as recommended by the APN to decrease or alleviate symptoms. 36 of 40 (or 90%) of clients that present with anxiety, depression or PTSD  (and completed the pre-post test TSI) will report a 50% decrease in symptoms.
