Founded in 1978, the Sexual Assault Center is the only organization in Middle Tennessee that specializes in treatment for sexual assault survivors. Its mission is to end sexual violence and provide healing for children, adults and families through counseling and education. This grant will support a portion of the therapist’s salary and benefits, the translation of health materials into Spanish and the contract services of a bilingual/bicultural therapist. A minimum of 525 out of 750 clients seen (70%) will reduce at least two of their symptoms associated with the trauma of sexual abuse to the sub-clinical range within 12 months.  At least 600 out of 750 clients seen (80%) will report overall satisfaction on our Client Survey which addresses: understanding of issues surrounding abuse, noted decrease in symptoms, overall satisfaction with services, increased knowledge of accessing benefits, and recognition of legal rights.
