The mission of the Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center (UCCAC), founded in 2003,  is to serve children who are victims of severe sexual, physical, drug endangered abuse through prevention, education, and intervention.  Its goal is to help victims become children again.  The grant requested in this application will be used for salary and a small portion of travel for the Victim Services Coordinator position.  20 out of 25 (80%) will feel better prepared and more confident for the criminal/judicial court system because the Advocate has educated them on the process and what to expect so that the child and family are able to participate in the justice process.  The process to prepare families for court can be from 3 months to over a year depending on the case.  23 out of 45 (50%) of clients who are actively involved in therapy will improve their score on the Child Behavior Checklist by reporting a decrease in anxiety, depression, aggression, social problems and/or attention span over the course of 12 months.
