The mission of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center is to facilitate discoveries and best practices that make positive difference in the lives of person with developmental disabilities and their families. They support and apply scientific research to bring better services and training to the community. Founded in 1965 as one of the nation's original 12 Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers, the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center has a distinguished history of building a collaborative village of expertise to transform the lives of individuals with developmental challenges. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund a portion of salaries, benefits, travel, and overhead associated with the program. 80 out of 100 patients' (80%) mean quality of life scores will increase by 20% or at a statistically significant level. 50 out of 100 patients' (50%) mean scores will increase by 20% or at a statistically significant level. 50 out of 100 patients (50%) will decrease their reliance on psychotropic medication.
