CASA, Inc.

CASA, Inc.’s mission is to provide trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who come to the attention of juvenile court primarily as a result of abuse or neglect. CASA, Inc. received approval for 501(c)3 status on September 26, 1984. Since that time, the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program has served Nashville by helping abused and neglected children find safe and permanent homes. The agency’s outcomes for the year include: training 75 new volunteers; serving 650 children; maintaining at least a 90% average of CASA permanent placement recommendations being accepted by the court; maintaining at least a 95% average of children who remained in their safe home six (6) months following their placement; initiating tracking of Youth Life Skills Assessment outcomes for children ages 14-17 to address areas of concern and track results and improvements; and raising $17,000 more in income over expenses to build cash reserves.
