Centerstone Community Mental Health Centers

Formed in 1997, Centerstone united five prominent, well-respected Middle Tennessee community mental health centers with roots stretching back to the 1950s. With a mission to prevent and cure mental illness and addiction, Centerstone of Tennessee provides a full spectrum of behavioral health services for individuals of all ages and their families who have substance abuse, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. The funds requested in the application will group therapy session payments for a contracted therapist and full salary for a Recovery Coach, both trained in addiction treatment. The agency’s outcomes include: 60 out of 100 (60%) Addiction Recovery clients will demonstrate a reduction in alcohol and drug abuse as measured by self-report and the SASSI after their treatment. 36 out of 60 (60%) Addiction Recovery clients will remain sober one year after their treatment, the point at which a client’s success rate of sobriety increases from 36% to 66% as reported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. 30 out of 60 (50%) Addiction Recovery clients will be engaged in recovery support meetings outside of Centerstone and/or have a sponsor one year after their treatment, as encouraged by their Recovery Coach.
