Kid’s Place/ A Child Advocacy Center

Kid’s Place has been providing services to the child victims of abuse in the 22nd Judicial District since 1999. Its mission is to reduce the trauma of child abuse by providing a child oriented environment for the coordinated and multidisciplinary investigation, intervention, and treatment of child sexual and severe abuse in Lawrence, Wayne, Giles, and Maury Counties of Tennessee. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund a portion of the salary of the Clinical Director who will carry a caseload and supervise the full time therapist and clinical interns. 85% or 64 out of 75 children will demonstrate a reduction in re-experiencing symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These symptoms include: intrusive recollections, bad dreams, and flashbacks regarding the trauma.
